Welcome to Keeping Up with Kay! I’m Kaylin — but everyone calls me Kay — a second-year medical student who knows firsthand how challenging it can be to balance long days of studying and working with staying healthy, active, and grounded. After retiring from a lifetime of gymnastics, I struggled to find consistency in movement, nutrition, and self-care, especially while navigating grad school and full-time work. Over time, I’ve learned that balance doesn’t mean perfection — it’s about progress, grace, and finding small ways to take care of yourself, even when life is moving at full speed. This blog is my space to share health and wellness tips, personal stories, and reflections from medical school in the hope that they’ll encourage you to thrive in your own busy life.
A Few Fun Facts About Me
- I have a dog named Bailey who I share with my parents (can you tell she has anxiety?) and a cat named Piper who I share with my roommates

- I like remixing and making music. I taught myself how to make really long music mashups during COVID, and now I make the floor music for the gymnastics team at Cherry Hill Gymnastics Academy!
- My favorite movies are Dirty Dancing, Mamma Mia, and Notting Hill

- My #1 bucket list trip would be to go to Norway during Christmas time. Some of the most incredible markets are there! And I’ve always wanted to hang with reindeer and swim with orcas.
- Songs that instantly put me in a good mood are: Build me up Buttercup, Here Comes the Sun, and Chiquitita

- I own a plot of land in England, which is my favorite place in the world! I’m hoping that one day I will be able to split time living here and there.
- I am most proud of the amazing people I have in my life, both friends and family; I could talk about them for ages! Don’t worry, you’ll hear all about them. This is only a sneak peek; there are so many more that aren’t pictured!
