Why Should I Keep up with Kay?

Hi everyone! My name is Kaylin, Kay for short, and welcome to my blog! I know what it’s like to juggle a full schedule while trying to keep up with health and well-being. My path has been full of trial and error, but it’s also taught me that balance is possible, even when life is running at full speed. Gymnastics was my whole world growing up, and I was fortunate enough to compete all the way through college. But when I retired, I hit a wall. I tried everything from adult sports leagues to running, but without the drive I had in gymnastics, my motivation fizzled. Consistency was nowhere to be found, and I honestly didn’t know how to fix it.

Fast forward to now, I am a second-year medical student, fueled by caffeine in every form, anxiety (great pre workout supplement), and a healthy amount of chaos. Somewhere along the way, I started to find my rhythm again. I’ve learned to approach movement differently, nourish myself with healthier choices (with plenty of moderation, of course), and I’m much more intentional about taking care of myself. Do I have it all figured out? Definitely not. But that’s part of the journey, and it’s one I’m excited to share.

Keeping up with Kay is my corner of the internet where I share:

  • Health and Wellness tips: realistic ways to eat well, move your body, and stay grounded even on the busiest days
  • Personal stories and anecdotes: the ups, the downs, and everything in between, there is a lesson to be learned in it all
  • Medical school and lifestyle advice: coping strategies, productivity hacks, and encouragement for anyone navigating demanding times

This isn’t about perfection, it’s about progress, and giving yourself permission to find balance

Because my goal is to make this a space that feels like a conversation with a friend. I don’t have it all figured out by any means, but I’m learning every day. If you’ve ever felt stretched too thin, or wondered how to care for yourself in the craziness of life, I hope my words help you feel a little less alone, and a little more motivated.

This is just the beginning. In the future, I’ll dive into topics like:

  • building a morning routine that actually sticks
  • balancing study time with exercise, friends/family, and everything else life throws at you.

So stick around, grab a cup of coffee, and let’s figure this out together.
